This dog has completely stolen our heart... How can a poor abused and neglected dog be so sweet? Baraka, which means "blessed" or "essence of life", loves people with all her heart. It is pretty obvious that she can't believe what is happening to her right now. For the first time of her life she is loved, pampered and cherished. We are doing all we can to turn her life around and help her become the pretty princess she was born to be.

This dog is about as sweet, friendly and loving as they come. No behavior problems what so ever (unless you count "gluttony" as a behavior problem - She sure likes her food ;-). This sweetheart lights up when people visit her and greets everyone with a ton of wags and kisses.

Baraka has made amazing progress since we pulled her from the shelter in June 2006. Her HW disease was successfully treated and B.B. tested negative in mid august. She loves her food and has gained much needed weight.... Maybe a little "too much" needed weight ;-) Her coat is now shiny and healthy. Though her level of energy has increased, she remains a very mellow dog who'd much rather be a couch potato than a marathon runner. We LOVE her!! |
UPDATE from Foster Mom:
Baraka continues to do well. She now is galloping up the stairs and capering about when she is really excited. She was good for a bath but hard to hoist into the tub. We introduced her to Mickey and Chase the Pomeranian and she does very well with them though the wrong look will send one of them into the bathroom pouting. They eat in the same kitchen but always with me standing between them! She is good in the crate but needs to be taken out a lot if loose in the house. She still sleep in her kennel at night. She is just too sweet!
