Butterball is the last of the Thanksgiving Gang . No idea why unlike her siblings, she has not found a home. It certainly not because there is anything wrong with her. This sweetheart is about as good as a puppy can be. Housebroken, crate trained, well socialized with dogs and cats, basic training and great manners. What more could you ask for? And as if this was not enough, look at that face?
Maybe Butterball has not been adopted yet because she's a mix... and we'll all know what happens to Pit Bull mixes.... Not enough Pit to attract Pit Bull lovers, Too much Pit to attract mutt lovers.... and there you have it... a dog no one wants... No one but those who have met a Pit Bull mix before and know first hand what awsome dogs they are!

Foster Situation: Butterball is now fostered by the Gipson family. She is with one male 2 year old pitbull foster dog, our two dogs (male & female), and a cat. Butters gets along well with all of the dogs in the house, and is very respectful of the cat..
Butter and Friend | Resting
Training: Butterball is a great dog! She is very smart, knows how to sit, and stands at the back door when she needs to go outside. Butters is doing much better with walking on a leash. When she is tired, she does tend to sit and not want to walk.
Her favorite game is tug-o-war, and she loves laying on the couch with the other dogs while chewing her nylabone. Butterball is crate trained and knows when its time to "go to your home!" for dinner or bedtime.
Personality: Wow, is Butterball a fun girl to be around! Is there nothing this puppy can’t do? First to climb to the top of the stairs, first to explore the far end of the yard…this girl is up for adventure and fun. Not nervous a bit, Butters is as easy-going, happy-go-lucky as they come. Butterball is growing in size overnight it seems, so she may become quite a big dog. We know that mom was a full blooded pit but dad could have been a Boxer or a BullMastiff.
Best Attribute: EXTREMELY intelligent!!! Butterball is the best snuggler. She likes to take a nap on your lap. |
| 4/3/2008 UPDATE: Butterball (aka Butters, or Squirt) is growing up quick! She's a smart girl and has learned to sit and go to her kennel on command. Butters loves playing with Blue Ice, and gets along well with the other two dogs in our home. Butterball follows the other dogs around like a shadow. She plays chase in the yard and tug-o-war until she can't stay awake any longer! Butters has met the cat, up close, and is respectful of her space. Butters is very good on car rides, and usually just goes to sleep.
Although she's got plenty of toys to play with, her favorite chew toys are sticks in the back yard. She's even learning how to fetch! Butters favorite treat is carrots. When she gets tired, she will crawl on your lap for a nap. |
