Carissa lived at MPR shelter for a while, where she did her best to be a good girl so someone would soon give her a chance in a real home. She is a very positive girl. Her motto: “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.”
Her good behavior paid off! Carissa has been transferred to foster care where she is thriving!
Carissa responds well to basic commands such as sit and stay. Even though she gets really happy, once she gets her "zoomies" out of the way, she will crawl up, typically with her legs sprawled behind her in the "frog leg" position, to get some much deserved pets and kisses.

Carissa is the perfect age right now. Coming out of her "puppy" stage, she is responsive, sharp and well behaved, but still likes to let her inner child shine through.

Carissa has been introduced to other dogs while in boarding and did very well. She gets along great with the 4-legged boys in her foster homes and spends hours playing with them. She could definitely live in a home with a friendly male.
Training: Carissa walks great on leash with a "Weiss Walky". She is great and MPR volunteers love her.

Personality: She has a wonderful personality.... Very sweet, outgoing and friendly. She is VERY pleasant and loves to cuddle!
Carissa also has great house manners and is an all around easy and well behaved companion.

Best Attribute: Did we say it? Carissa loves to give kisses. She will easily win your heart! Her one goal in life is to make you love her and she will do just that! Once you meet her it will be hard to say no to her! She seems to have a mission in life to remind people to belly laugh more. Life is too short to be depressed. If you are able to hang out with Carissa without having at least one belly laugh, then she says doctors orders are to spend more time with her! She will surely bring your inner child out as well! She is such a lovable goof....

Note: Carissa is in an active foster home. While she is safe and welcomed to stay there as long as needed, as soon as she is placed, her foster parents will rescue another dog who is running out of time at the shelter. Giving Carissa a good home will not only make her veeeeery happy, but it will also save the life of another dog.....
