Cerise is one of the very few lucky dogs saved from the Oklahoma bust in December and transferred to rescue. First hug ever | Rescue Day. Cerise is now safe with MPR, recuperating from her ordeal. Sadly, the great majority of the dogs from the OK raid didn't make it...

Note that Cerise is the smallest dog in our program and might be one of the smallest Pit bulls we have ever rescued. She is tiny. So if you are looking for the fun-loving personality of a Pit bull but in a very small package, Cerise is the one for you.

Cerise is currently being socialized. She grew up in a difficult situation and her ordeal left her unsure and insecure. She is making great progress. She is still a little torn between being unsure of what to do around people and wanting to play and be silly. She just doesn't know how to go about it yet. We think there is a very fun-living little princess in there who only wants to bust out of her shell. It has been fun watching her come around and become the happy, outgoing and friendly little Pit bull she was born to be.

NEWKIRK, Oklahoma – Officials say they have counted a total of 106 pit bulls they discovered at a rented farm near Newkirk.

The 100 adult dogs and seven puppies (one died Wednesday night) were discovered by the Kay County Sheriff’s Department after receiving an anonymous tip that the dogs were being abused or neglected.

A large number of the dogs had been chained to logs and some were found locked in a barn without food or water.

Jerry Southern, 32, was arrested. He told authorities that he shows and sells the dogs, but no one was buying them.

Foster situation: Cerise spent time in foster care in a home with two other dogs and she adored them. She did very well with the cat in the house too, ignoring him for the most part. Cerise lost her foster home when a MPR dog was unexpectedly returned and needed his foster home back. She was heartbroken but tried hard to keep her chin up....

She was then fostered and eventually adopted by another family but sadly we were notified recently that they have to move to a place where Cerise can't go with them. So, once again she finds herself looking for her forever family.

Training. Cerise is housebroken and is crate trained.

Personality. She's a clown! This dog will crack you up with her silly antics. She loves to play "tag" and tries to turn everything into a game. She is energetic but not hyper. She absolutely loves to play with other dogs.

Best attribute: Her small size makes her the perfect partner to fit any situations. Her amusing personality is totally entertaining. She's a riot!
