George is doing great. He's making great progress every day. He responds very well to most commands. I've gotten him to sit, then lay, then stay for a couple of minutes while I throw the treat in front him. I can move around the house or go into the other room and most of the time he'll still stay there. My guests make him sit before they give him affection, so he is turning into a real treat to be around. He's very friendly around people and dogs (keep small cats and squirrels away though).
He loves sleeping at my feet while I'm working on the computer. He's been gaining weight too.
He's been nothing but a pleasure to have around. I know he'll only get better with age too.
He loves it here, I can tell.

This happy goofball of a dog is about 12 months old. He is light red with a red nose and natural ears. He's not flashy but very good looking. A big goofy puppy and about as friendly as they come.
We're guessing that George didn't have much training before coming to us but he was quickly transferred to a foster home where he is learning good manners. The dog is just a goof and doesn't take life too seriously at this point. One thing is sure, he will make you laugh!

George was starved for attention at first but he is now learning to control himslef... Though he is pretty determined to climb on your lap and give you a face wash.... He is big, strong and needs leadership. We think there is a very nice dog in there but he needs some work. He's just a happy clown with an exuberance for living! He loves to gives lots of kisses and lays nicely for tummy rubs. He is so handsome!
A Note From Foster Dad:
"Georgie boy is making great progress. I couldn't be more proud of him. The more time we spend together, the better we learn how to communicate with each other. I think he's beginning to understand the word "potty" and I don't think there is any doubt in his mind that he is not supposed to go in the house.
The second or third day I had George my friend came over. I had George on a leash inside the house to control his exuberant greeting. Regardless, he was still making every effort to jump on her. The same friend came over a week later and said she could tell a world of difference in George. George has made the most progress at sitting and staying before he does anything remotely pleasurable. I can get him sit-still while I pour his bowl of food and he doesn't budge until I say "go get it". He's also getting to the point now where if I present him with a bone or treat, he just sits without me asking because he knows what's required. He is very good in his crate. If he wants out, he doesn't make a big stink. He just sits down or lays down when I walk by his cage because I think he knows that I don't want to let him out if he's acting all crazy. He's a good boy!"
