Starved | Poor Precious Boy

One of the sweetest dogs in our program. Courage's pleading eyes captured the heart of our volunteer at the local city pound. It was obvious this dog had a very hard life but his little heart was still full of hope... Hope that things could get better... MPR was made aware of his situation and we decided to welcome him in the program so we could show him what love is all about. To say that this dog is grateful is an understatement. He is simply thrilled beyond words. Courage shows his gratitude every day by being as sweet and easy as a dog can be.

We kept him in the shelter's cats and puppies room when he first came to us and he did great with everyone. He has now been transferred to a foster home with 2 cats and is no problem at all. This dog is all about love, sweetness and cuddling. He is still in bad shape, covered with old wounds, scratches and scars, and very underweight, but his heart is healing quickly. To see him so happy and so relieved is a perfect reminder of why we do what we do.

Standing | Such a Sweetheart

"Blaze [aka, Courage] has been a fantastic addition to our family.  He gets along great with our 5 kids and Golden Retriever and is a perfect gentleman.  I used him as an "ambassador" at the College of Veterinary Medicine 's Open House last year, greeting visitors at the front door of the teaching hospital.  I had a sign next to our table that introduced him as having come from the Missouri Pit Bull Rescue and invited folks to come get to know him.  We had over 2000 visitors that day.  He was, as always, well-mannered and I think he changed several people's perception of pit bulls.  I hope to do the same again this year.  I'm attaching a few pictures of him.  Thanks for all you are doing for MPR and I'll plan to make a donation."

See what love can do. Blaze almost lost his life to abuse, neglect and starvation. A few months of love and good care, and he has blossomed into a greek God. Please help us save more dogs like Blaze. Adopt or sponsor a Pit Bull in need.
