11/2005 Update:

I just got done watching V's appearance in "Off the Chain" and I have to say that it was a very good documentary. Although parts of it disturbed me, and I mean sick to my stomach, want to take a ball bat to 'dog man tucson' disturbed, it was the first time I saw the pit bull get fairly represented on film.

The last seven-eight months that I've had Brody have been just great. He and Bella, our boxer-shep-pit-something female , are inseparable.

Everyone that meets him absolutely loves him. Even my sixty-something year old grandma, who has never liked dogs for as long as I can remember, couldn't stop talking about how she thought he was so sweet and cute and sweet and cute and blah-it was kind of embarrassing.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and let you know the dogs are doing just great. I'm trying to change the public opinions about these great dogs when I can. I'm actually getting ready to start law school, maybe someday I can do more.

Later,
Nick Jansen

Proud owner of Brody, formerly known as Cowboy of MPR

Good Looking Boy | Perfect Body

Cowboy is another one pulled from deathrow literally minutes before he was scheduled to be euthanized. Though we were as full as can be, his stunning personality captured our hearts and we had to squeeze him in. Just look at this boy! How he ever ended up alone in a shelter is a mystery to us, as it is with so many of the wonderful dogs that make it to MPR.

Cowboy Stands | Wink! | Big Head | Side view

Cowboy is now in boarding and making lots of friends. He appears to have been a well cared for pet. He has a healthy coat and doesn't show any signs of neglect. He has gorgeous black patches on his body, that resemble that of a cow, which is how he got his name!

Beautiful Boy | Cute Cowboy

Cowboy is such a lover! His whole body wiggles with glee at the sight of someone new. He is very outgoing and eager to receive attention from anyone who will give it to him. He is what we call a "Leaner" because when he's getting loved on he has to lean into you and soak up as much affection as he can get!

Look at that face..!

Cowboy is very beautiful on the outside too. He has a perfect pit bull body and is an excellent representative of the breed. His adorable face is absolutely irresistible. He has a very expressive face, and has mastered the art of making "pleading eyes" that will melt any heart.

Cowboy's smooch | Gorgeous boy | Adorable Cowboy

Cowboy seems to know simple commands, and is very eager to please. He does well on a leash too. He loooves to play fetch and will drop a ball at your feet nearly every time.

He hasn't been introduced to other dogs yet, as he is very new to our program. He doesn't pay much attention to the other dogs in boarding and we think he can probably go with a friendly female. We will update his bio as we get to know him more.

Cowboy is just an all around great boy and we think he'll make a lucky family very happy. He has a lot of love and pittie kisses to share. Now he just needs someone to give them to.
