Foster situation: Dempsey lives in a home with a 75 lb weimaraner. There are no cats in the home. He also regularly visits with a Shih Tzu as well. He loves all other dogs and likes to play rough. He was introduced to a baby kitten and was quite taken with it, he did not show any aggression, but it's unknown how he would be living with a cat. Dempsey had been around children and does very well. He especially loves to give kisses! We have just moved into a new home with a fenced in back yard. Dempsey is used to being leash walked every day and does very well. He goes for a ride in the car every day and loves it! Dempsey is crate trained. I always put a chewy bone in with him while we are gone. When we come home we usually find that he has buried it in his blankets in his crate. He is always crated when we are not home. Whenever we go to the pet food store we bring Dempsey. It's in Brookside so we walk him around and he loves on everyone he meets. Dempsey does not know a stranger :)
Training: We are working on potty training. He's almost got it down, but will have occasional accidents. He is crate trained. He is showing some food aggression if the other dog goes near his bowl when he's eating. He shows no aggession to people though. We pet him when he is eating and even put our hand in the food bowl. We are teaching him to "sit" and as long as he isn't overly excited he will. Dempsey is stubborn and defiant, but then again he's all puppy! He knows the meaning of "no" but uses selective hearing - haha! He's a very intelligent boy, but he will need someone with patience to get him though his puppy years.

Personality: Dempsey is very outgoing! He loves everyone and everything! He's a bit of a wild child. He's always investigating everything for a little something to put in his mouth, and everything does go in his mouth. He's for the most part a very happy go lucky boy, his tail is always wagging, even when he eats! He only whines when he's tired and can't find a comfy place to sleep. When he's ready to take a nap or go to bed he's very snuggly. His favorite place is cuddled up in the crook of your neck. He is always giving kisses. His personality is still coming out every day. He's certainly not a laid back couch potato, he's always on the go! He likes to hide under the bed and then jump out and suprise you. He has the most expressive face and you can usually tell what kind of mood he's in. The ears always go back when it's time to go in the house and he's still wanting to stay outside and chase leaves and eat sticks. He's got a really great personality and is just full of life!

Could a puppy be any cuter? Talk about a sweetie!! Dempsey is an adorable little pup with sooo much love for life. He is super friendly and loves everyone that he meets. He certainly captured all of our volunteers hearts right away. Please don't make him wait too long for his forever home.
