Foster Situation: I am not aware on how Freedom was rescued, or her history. The condition we got her in was a withdrawn, quiet, and sad dog. Who was indeed in need of love and a friendly atmosphere in which she obviously was denied. Freedom is fostered with my partner and I as well as another foster dog. She is well mannered with us and the other foster dog. As well as being protective of her “turf”. She’s a really great and well behaved dog. She is very active with us. She demands love and affection, and is a great dog. Freedom is allowed to run our yard free off the leash as long as the gates are closed. She not only just runs the yard but also makes perimeter checks as if she is doing a security job. We live in part of the city that is very active. Freedom is taken on regular walks and has set her own “potty timer”. She behaves awesome in the car on short trips, but gets car sick once in awhile. But when precautions of her car sickness are taken she is great. Freedom sleeps in her crate at night as well as the other foster dog. But if she had her way she would sleep at the foot of our bed. Freedom loves going for walks but hates her leash, she demands that she is an independent girl. I think the perfect living situation for Freedom would consist of being able to interact with someone everyday and all day. She is great left out of her crate, able to run the house and enjoys giving you attention. She needs to be able to run outside in a fenced yard. She would be a great dog for someone that is suffering for an illness, because she brings such joy and life into a person’s life, she would be excellent at being a rehab dog. A place where she is able to be herself.
Training: Freedom is learning tricks such as sit-pretty, lay down, and her normal obedience and manner tricks. She is very compelled to make you happy so she tries her best at what you are teaching her and then she loves her lil’ treats. And she will try to trick you just so she can get her treat, but she’s obvious on her intentions. She loves the attention the best. Her sitting pretty trick is starting to turn into a couch potato sit, but she’s great and tries her best.
Personality: Freedom is very well mannered. She is outgoing when the situation calls for it or she can be quite quiet when needed. Freedom is a lapdog and loves to share the chair with you. She is very easy going, well mannered, and protective. She is great with visitors as long as they take the time to stop and rub her belly, that is her most favorite thing to do, is to get her belly rubbed. Freedom is very submissive and calm dog. But she will let you know when someone is at the door. She loves to camp out on her loveseat that she has adopted as hers. She also shares all her toys and loves marshmallows. And she is very playful. If she is alone she could turn in to your best couch potato you could ever have. She is just an all the way around great dog. She will capture your heart the moment you set your eyes on her.
Best Attribute: The best attribute of Freedom is that she shows that she has a heart and that she knows when you need that little extra love. She is a great dog that will just sit at your feet or lay in your lap knowing that you are in need of just a little pick me up. She is a very affectionate and loving dog. Freedom will warm your heart and moisten your eyes knowing that she is your caretaker instead of the other way around. She is a warming, nourishing, and loving soul. She is a lover. What more could you want. Her begging for love eyes are brightened as she brightens yours.
