JULY 12, 2009 - Here's an update from a couple of volunteers who provided transportation for Hammie:
What a dreamboat! Dani and I are both in love with him and we only drove in a car with him for an hour!
He seems pretty calm and relaxed. He watches what's going on with little reaction and rides really great in the car. The only time he tried to get into the front seat was when I got out of the car. He takes treats very gently and waits patiently (without whining) for the next one. And he does have a reliable "sit" command.

Please Help! Hambone needs a foster home. If interested, please complete an application and enter "Foster Home" in the dog name field.
Foster Situation: Hammie is being temporarily fostered in a home with a female Doberman and two older children. The dogs have not been introduced but we believe that Hammie would do best as the only pet in the home. He is very much a people-dog and would love to soak up all the loving for himself. He has been sleeping in his foster mom's room and usually ends up in the bed!
Training Situation: He is housebroken and crate trained. He has not had one accident and he goes to the door when he wants out. He loves to go for walks and does well on a leash with occasional pulling which we're working on. He sits very well and we are working on shake.
Standing | Beautiful Eyes | Simply Irresistible!
Personality: He is just extremely laid back. He comes when you say come, he is not pushy. He is very much a Velcro dog...he will be laying down asleep and still jumps up to follow you wherever you go.
Best Attrribute: He has such a calm and lovey demeanor. And, his GORGEOUS eyes...they make saying no pretty darn hard!
