We believe Jackpot was most likely escaping his yard so he could find females to mate with. Poor boy was not neutered and obviously answering nature's call to reproduce. We don't know what happened to him during his escapades but he was in pretty bad shape when we took him in.
The pictures in this page were taken the day he arrived, before we had a chance to give him a good clean up and tend to his wounds. He is currently undergoing antibiotics treatment to treat infection and receiving all medical care he needs.
Jackpot was quite thin when he arrived and infested with parasites, which have been treated. Surprisingly he tested negative to heartworm disease
(yeah)
.
Getting TLC, cleaned up and on his way to healing ...

Temperament wise Jackpot is A1! He has a wonderful disposition and friendly attitude towards people despite what he has obviously been through. We do know that we lived with a toddler in his previous home and we were told that he was very good and gentle with the little one. He has a very easy-going nature, and is very well behaved in the house.
