Why Josie has not been adopted yet is completely beyond us. She is one of the best dog we have in the program and definitely one of the cutest.
Josie is very sweet and loves people. She is a little needy for your attention but so irresistible that you can't help but love her. She likes to cuddle and follow you around. She is also good with other dogs, although sometimes roughhousing overwhelms her a little bit. We think she'd do best in a home with a young playful male or even where she'd be the only princess, getting all the attention for herself!

Foster Situation: Josie is fostered with another dog but they don't spend a lot of time together because he is too grumpy and impatient with her. She is dying to play with him but he's not much of a dog-dog. So Josie is very content playing with her human friends instead.
There is a 12 months old human toddler in her foster home who is Josie's best buddy. We cant stress enough how wonderful she is around him. She treats him just like another leader in the household despite his tiny size. She knows that when she's around the baby it is time to be gentle - She just wants to give him kisses and seems very concerned about him when he cries!!
Josie does well in the car and very well on a leash also. She sleeps in her crate at night, right outside of our bedroom door. We bet she'd rather be in the room with us but our resident dog wont have any of this. This is why we hope Josie will soon find a home where she will be welcomed as a full family member and wont have to put up with grumpy old man in the house.
We think Josie will make a WONDERFUL family pet - A great dog for any family that has lots of time for playing and cuddling!
Training: Josie knows how to sit and does so on the first request. She also knows how to give high fives. We are working on "stay" and she is doing very, very well with it. She is also housebroken and does great in her crate even though she'd rather be right by your side than anywhere else! She seems very quick to catch on and wants nothing more than to please.
Irresistible Face | Sweet eyes | What A Doll
Personality: Josie is fairly outgoing and always happy to meet everyone. She's very goofy and loves to chase her tail, play fetch and bat her ball around the yard. She has spurs of energy, especially when she's been crated for a while, but as long as she has enough exercise (which can be a good butt-run in the yard) she is pretty laid back.
Josie seems to have a low prey drive, as I have noticed several stray cats inside our back fence when she was in the yard and she just ignored them. The other night she came galloping up to the back door to come in because she got spooked by a bunny, haha.
She LOVES to cuddle and would just lay in your lap and get loved on all day long if she could.
Best Attribute: Josie is just so loving and lives to make you happy. She is also so expressive and just the looks she gives us sometimes crack us up. She just wants to be right in the middle of everyone at all times...you couldn't find a better family dog!

| A note from Josie's new foster mom:
Josie is a DOLL. We adore her, she is such a sweetie pie, and a total ham; She put on quite a show for us tonight in the backyard with her rope ball. She is very sweet and gentle around my son Brody, although she wants his pacifier BADLY!! Haha! Today while we were all sitting in the living room she went right up to Brody in his bouncy seat, sat down and rested her head on his lap staring at the pacifier like "I know you will drop it eventually, and I'll be here to eat it". Was so cute and funny.
I think she will make someone a perfect pet, a perfect kid's dog as well.
