Kassie was in a high-kill shelter with a non-adoption policy on Pit Bull dogs. We thought she was too pretty to die and managed to make room for her in our program. Standing Pretty | Cute Face Foster Situation: Kassie is fostered with two other dogs. She does extremely well with both of them and wants to play all the time. Our home does not have cats. She loves kids although she is very energetic and needs to be supervised. Kassie sleeps in her kennel at night. We have tried to have her sleep in bed, but she moves around quite a bit a night. She rides well in the car. We are working on leash training with her. I believe Kassie would do well in a home with another dog to play with and a family that is active.  She needs lots of exercise and is always on the go.

March 28, 2007 UPDATE: From Kassie's new mom: Kassie, now Angel is doing fine. she is so wonderful and we love her very much... She has never potty'd in the house not once and I am very pleased with that.... Her follow up vet appointment with our vet went well.  She stays in our laundry room when we go to town and she does not chew anything that does not belong to her... She is a fast learner and she picked up on our rules real quick.... She knows sit, stay, get out of the kitchen, go pee, no cat, stop.... I do not teach my animals like others teach, I teach them as if they understand everything I say because I believe they do.. She gets along well with Blu, our male staff, and she now understands what a cat is and she likes the cats... She is now my kid, so all is well. She behaves well in the yard by herself. I have left her out for about 1/2 hour alone and I peek out the window and spy on her. She does not dig in the yard and that is great. She sleeps with us and never jumps down all night. Thanks for writing us. We love Angel... She is so sweet.... Pam.   Training: Kassie knows how to sit very well. We are working with her on learning "leave it" and "off". Kassie often times acts like a much younger pup and can be mouthy when playing with her toys. Kassie is recovering from a urninary tract infection so housetraining has been difficult for her, but she is improving every day! Kassie is very eager to please if you have a treat in hand :) She can at times be defiant and stubborn, but that's usually when she has energy to burn. Personality: Kassie is very outgoing! She doesn't know a stranger. She constantly has a toy in her mouth wanting to play. She is very high energy and doesn't like to entertain herself, but prefers to be interactive with her humans or another dog. She is quite vocal and barks when she is excited or sees or hears something in the yard that gets her attention. She however does not bark if someone rings the doorbell or knocks on the door. In the morning she will "warble" in her kennel when she needs to go out. It's not barking but more of chewbaca sounding noise - it's really quite endearing :) If she's not under your feet it's time to see what she's up to. Best Attribute: Kassie has such a love for life! She is always on the go checking out new things wanting to play and love.
