Merry was pulled from a shelter before she ran out of time. She was a mother to a liter of puppies.
This lucky girl sure got a free pass to MPR...... We “borrowed” Merryweather from a high-kill shelter to take her to an event as we didn’t have enough dogs from our program that were able to go ... The goal was to give her some exposure in case someone would be interested in her. The volunteers were to leave her in a crate at the mini shelter for the night and she would be taken back to the pound the next day .....
As she was brought back to the shelter that morning, Merry asked MPR volunteer why she couldn't stay with the MPR dogs... She told her she had such a great time with the MPR gang at the event and a wonderful night at the mini-shelter. She said that for the first time in her life she had been pampered and felt loved.... She was sooo happy.... It was explained to her that there were many pit bulls at the pound and a decision had not been made about which one would be brought into the program yet....
Merry looked at the volunteer like the little girl in the Ally Bank commercial with the pony...
Needless to say, Merryweather is now part of MPR's adoption program :-)
Merry is a happy goofball, very fun-loving, playful and outgoing. She is responsive and sweet. She likes to please and is eager to learn new tricks. Very smart.
Merry loves to go on walks. She likes to play and have a good time but also has a cuddly side to her.
Merry gets along with male dogs she is familiar with. Like a typical bully breed, she requires supervision and a slow introduction. She is great with people and loves to meet new friends.
