5/22/06 Update:

Joe is doing great! He is getting along wonderfully with Nala our other dog. He likes to chase the kitty around the house. He doesn't seem aggressive with the her just curious. Thankfully Rinja the cat, isn't intimidated easily. It's fun to see her come and snuggle with Joe on the couch or in bed.

Joe's dad takes him running almost everyday for 3-6 miles. He seemed a little sluggish at first but he's quickly showing an increase in endurance (as if he needed it). Joe has a lot of energy, it may just seem that way since our other dog is so mellow. At any rate he seems to be assimilating nicely into the family. He likes to snuggle more than any dog we have ever seen, which makes me happy. We will try to get you some pictures soon.

March 03, 2007 Update:

Mighty Joe’s mom said he is doing great and they are very happy with him. They took him to their new vet and he told them Joe should be the poster dog for Pit Bulls. He was really impressed with him!

Smoosh Face | Beautiful Joe

What a wiggle-Butt!!! This boy is such a riot with his smoosh face, positive attitude and wonderful spirit. His pictures make him look serious but he is a real goofball in person. He's the family clown and his amusing personality is very refreshing.

It is that irresistible smoosh face that captured the attention of our volunteer at the shelter but that mighty wiggle-butt is what made it impossible to leave this boy there to be killed. Might Joe was pulled from Animal Control on his last day and more than glad to join our program.

Silly boy | Wrinkle head | Laying Down

He's a clown and a goofball and totally happy to be alive - His whole body wags with his tail. Mighty-Joe couldn't be any more fun-loving.

Might Joe is fostered in a home with cats and another dog. He is learning good manners and being socialized. Did we mention that he loves to play and have a good time? He also loves people's attention and can't get enough loving. This boy will climb on your lap if you let him and cuddle with all his heart.

Sweet eyes | Waiting for love...

4/05/2006 Update:

Joe is doing really good with Morning Glory. They play for hours on end and then they're tuckered out. He hasn't tried jumping the fence but I think Morning Glory keeps him pretty entertained. He's okay with cats as long as they don't run, but half the time he just ignores them. He's awesome and I think Morning Glory is really happy to have a playmate again.

I've been teaching Mighty Joe how to sit and he almost has it down. My friend came over the other day with her 2 boys and he did wonderful with them. He gave the cat a few kisses today so I think he should be fine around them. Of course the cat didn't look too happy. He was all wet :) but it was really cute.
