UPDATE: Moxie underwent surgery to close the gapping neck wound and she now looks like a beautiful little princess. The scar on the back of the neck is almost completely gone, and only a light pink mark on the front reminds us what the poor sweetheart has gone through. She on the other end, has put this nightmare behind her and is now smiling at life with all her little heart.
So Pretty | Sweet eyes | Too Cute | Pretty Moxie
Foster Situation: She is fostered in a home with several other dogs and cats. The foster parents are doing a slow introduction as the resident pets are a little older and need time to accept a new comer. Moxie seems very ready to make new friends.
Waiting for love | Happy Face | Life is good now! | So Sweet | Pretty Girl | Good sit
Personality: Very sweet, outgoing, energetic. Moxie loves to cuddle and to roll on her back for a belly rub.... She's such a clown that she will roll herself off the couch when you pet her but climb right back on... Then roll off again....
Someone will come for me... I hope.... | Adorable | Hard to resist | So pretty |
Moxie really is as sweet and playful as they come. She offers the best of both worlds. Moxie has met a local dog trainer a few weeks ago and he had nothing but good things to say about her. He said that Moxie is highly intelligent, one of the smartest he has dealt with. He had her sitting, laying down, backing up, going through his legs, fetching a rope, and jumping to catch a Frisbee in her mouth all in about 15 minutes. This also shows her trainability. She learned all this without any treats or any negative punishment. He simply used the rope toy and a little tug of war as the reward.
Wanting love | Cute Girl | Those eyes
The trainer even stated that he would adopt Moxie himself if hadn’t had two dogs in his small house already. For a dog trainer to say that I think speaks volumes about this dog’s potential.
Her foster mom claims that Moxie loves to be around people and is veeeery affectionate and loving. She loves belly rubs more than anything in the world. She is very playful and does great on walks and jogs. I'm not a runner, but I believe she would make a super running partner.
She has been through so much since arriving in our program, but this dog is so forgiving and resilient. Her neck looks great, and now that her hair is growing back, you can hardly tell that she has a scar from surgery.
Oh and Moxie LOVES her pink snuggie. :-) After being kept as an outdoor dog, she understandably likes to curl up in that snuggie to get warm and cozy. She is a very precious little girl that deserves only the best.
