Foster Situation: Nougat is currently staying at MPR's mini shelter enjoying much needed comfort and lots of love from our volunteers.
Personality: Nougat is sweet... Very sweet.... She loooooves the cuddle and thinks she's a lap dog. She also likes to play but needs time to warm up to strangers and new situations. Once she knows you though and is familiar with her surrounding, she is a fun-loving, playful goofball. Get on the couch, and she's up there with you, trying to get as close as possible.
Other dogs: Nougat has not been introduced to other dogs at the shelter. She is curious about them through the kennel and seems interested in making friends to play. We think she might do well with a compatible young male.
Training: Currently learning basic commands.
Best Attribute: Her unique look and very sweet personality. If you like cuddle-bugs, Nougat is the one for you!

Nougat has recently been diagnosed with Cruciate ligament tear, or ACL. The cruciate ligament is a major part of the canine knee. Cruciate injury is one of the most common orthopedic complications seen in dogs. A ruptured cruciate is often a painful and immobilizing injury. While not a serious or life-threatening injury, it is still one that must be addressed for the sake of your dog. In this case, TPLO surgery has been recommended and its a very expensive surgery. MPR is hoping to raise money to help little Nougat enjoy life to the fullest.
