    I've Been Adopted!

    To my friends at MPR,

I want to thank you so much for my "Papsi Girl" (Paprika). When I adopted her two months ago I never dreamed what love and joy she would bring into this household. Not just for myself, but for my elderly mother, who we almost lost this past winter. She did not want a dog, but knew how badly I did. Papsi has really won my mother's heart over!

Papsi is so gentle, but playful, with my four small grandchildren. They don't come to see Grandma anymore, but come to see Papsi. Everyone that comes in contact with her is impressed with her loving gentleness.

I really could not have asked for a better companion. She is absolutely remarkable. Not a day goes by that she doesn't do something new that is just amazing. Seriously, I could go on forever on how good she is, but all in all, just wanted to thank you all for taking such good care of her there, and then letting me adopt her! PAPSI IS HOME!!! She is a major part of our family now.

    Thanks again,

    Debbie Waters and Papsi Girl

    My friends,

I am sending the above letter to you as my sister's internet is not working. Her letter is so heartfelt, and I wanted to add a little bit. My brother and sister really wanted a dog, and needed one. My brother works crazy hours, and now has someone to greet him no matter what hour he comes in. My mother was not wanting a dog, and even more, was terribly anxious about it being a pit bull. She now sees what loving companions they are. She, and the rest of us, are under the "spell of Papsi's eyes". She can use those big ole eyes and lead us anywhere. She loves everyone she meets, but has a bond with my sister like I have never seen. My brother calls Papsi "heels" because she is always on my sister's heels. She follows her so closely that my sister almost looks like she has grown a tail. You see my sister walking down the hall, and a tail wagging behind her! Papsi reminds me of the term "gentle giant". She plays with the children, and enjoys them so much, but is so careful with them. She is thrilled to go for rides, patiently sunbathes while my sister works in the yard, and is perfectly content to just lay by Debbie's side and watch tv. My family needed her, maybe even more than she needed them. To all who passed her up when looking at adoption, we are grateful, for she truly is a part of our family (my fur niece).

    Thank you,

    So Precious!

Paprika came into the local shelter very pregnant. She was so sweet that the shelter decided to have her spayed in order to save her life and give her a chance at adoption. A month went by with no potential adoption and Paprika found herself literally being walked to the E-room when MPR was contacted by a shelter worker pleading for her life.

    Happy Girl | So charming

After everything Paprika had been through and the fact that she was so incredibly sweet and even though MPR really didn't have room, we decided to bring her into the program to give her a chance at a better life.

    Beautiful Bully Smile

Paprika is now enjoying the good life at MPR shelter. It's not like being in a real home yet, but for Paprika, its much better than what she had before. She seems pretty content with her new situation and is showing her gratitude with smiles and kisses. We cant wait until she experiences another step up in life, and finds a real family. We can only imagine how thrilled she will be.

Yeeaahhha....!!!! | Pretty Pappy | Lovable Girl | So pretty | Irresistible | Red Beauty

We believe Paprika would do better in a home with no other dogs. She's ok with her canine roommates at the shelter but have not been formally introduced. She prefers people and we think her personality is better suited for being an only pet. No cats please.

Laying | Kiss-a-bull Face! | Cute smile | Adorable | Silly Lady | Just chilling

One thing is sure, she will never be barefoot and pregnant again. What a relief. The skin under her belly has tightened up and she looks much better. She sure has a very pretty face.

Please love me.... | Too Cute | Pretty Face | On the couch | Posing | Sitting quiet

Pappy's outgoing, silly and super friendly personality is what shines most about her. She is very smart and has mastered the art of the "puppy-eyes face" when she wants something. It's very hard to resist her....

Pretty Face | So Pretty | Happy Girl | Is that food over there? | Waiting for love | Waiting for you....

Paprika is crate trained and housebroken. She loves to have a good butt run in the yard but just for a few minutes. She is mostly a pretty laid back and easygoing girl.

So Sweet | Big old pitty smile | Wrinkly Face | Good Sit

Little Pink Tongue | Beautiful Girl | Hot summer days

Paprika is a very charming dog and it didn't take long for all the volunteers to fall in love with her. We believe she will make a wonderful family companion and should not be very difficult to handle. She is a sweetheart, has great manners and is full of love... and really, look at that face!
