Beautiful
Girl | Good Sit
Precious
was found by a good Samaritan who contacted MPR for help. We had
no room, and couldn't consider taking in another dog, but once
our volunteer met her, there was no way we could turn her away...
Despite
all that has happened to her, this amazing little girl is absolutely
as sweet and loving as can be. She adores people and wants nothing
more than to be held and snuggled. She looks up at each new face
with her big brown eyes, begging to be loved..
She
quickly became a favorite and we can't say enough about Precious'
love for people. All she wants is to crawl in a gentle lap and
be loved. She soaks up kind words and soft touch.

Precious
is now in foster care and she is doing wonderfully - She adores
her foster brother and continues to blossom. This little girl
has made big strides in such a short time. Her physical scars
are quickly healing and emotionally sweet Precious has long since
put her sad ordeal behind her.
Precious'
journey towards her new beginning...
Precious
wasn't always so beautiful. When we first rescued her it
was obvious she'd been through hell. This poor little girl
had been so starved there was absolutely nothing to her.
Every bone in her little frame was jutting out beneath her
thin coat. Precious was in horrible shape, to say the least.
She had been neglected way beyond the definition of abuse.
It was impossible to look at this sweet dog and not feel
a painful ache in your heart. How some monster could do
this to such a wonderful being so full of life and love....
we have no idea.
We
quickly got rid of the parasites that were eating her alive,
inside and out. The hair loss and scabs on her skin was
due to a flea allergy and skin infection and immediately
treated.

Update
from Foster Mom:
"
Precious
(aka Sweet P) is doing great! She is great on a leash and
does very well when we encounter other dogs. I have a feeling
she would get along with most dogs if properly introduced…
Even though she gets along great with Grommitt, I think
she’d be just fine in a house by herself as well.
She loves people and will always take any attention she
can get but is not pushy and will find a place to sit if
you don’t have time. She leaves the cats alone for
the most part.
The
hair on her back is almost completely grown back in and
is very shiny after a bath. She lost the hair on her ears
after we got her and that is growing back in. She has doubled
her width since we got her so in another couple of weeks
we may have a little tank on our hands! With a little help
from my husband I can trim her toenails. She doesn't LOVE
baths but tolerates them patiently. She knows how to sit.
She doesn't jump up and was extremely polite when she met
the neighbors children. She likes her kennel and goes right
in, most of the time without being asked.
Everyone
that meets her says “Oh, she’s so sweet!!”
– hence the nickname SweetP. I think she’d do
really well in a house with kids too. She’d be an
easy keeper for busy moms & dads and is the perfect
size, small but sturdy." |
As
you can see Precious has long since left her old life behind and
dreams of a happy ending with a wonderful family that will love
her as much as she wants. In return she promises to be a loyal
and dedicated lap warmer.
