Story: MPR was made aware of a difficult situation in Peculiar. A mom and her 7 puppies needed a new home. The result of an "accidental pregnancy". Owner is on disability but will try to hold on to the dogs until the puppies are ready to be adopted. Puppies will be ready to go into their permanent home in time for the holidays.
Pups were born on November 02. They are healthy and doing very well. We are monitoring the situation as best as we can and providing updates. Please fill out APPLICATION if interested to adopt or to foster. Financial assistance will be greatly appreciated as well.
UPDATE Nov, 16th: Puppies are doing well. 3 males, 4 females. Most puppies are white with brindle or black patches.
UPDATE Nov, 21th: Our volunteer in charge of this case has been visiting the little gang on a regular basis. The pups now have names (see below). We are screening applications for them so they can go home in time for Christmas.
Background: We know both parents - Both were Pit Bulls. The father has an outstanding disposition. The dog really is as friendly as can be and very outgoing. He knows no strangers. Mom is currently a little reserved due to being with her puppies but not aggressive. She is normally very sweet and friendly.
Upbringing: The pups are being well socialized and handled by many people. The owner now has in-house assistance to help her with the puppies. The little gang receives many visitors and are exposed to everything puppies their age should be.
Financial Assistance: A very special thank you to Joseph Hatchett and fiancee Michelle Uchtman for their wonderful donation. Joe is currently deployed in Afghanistan but was very touched by Precious' ordeal and her puppies and donated a very generous amount for their care.
