Sara Lee came to KCMO shelter along with another female (Dolly Madison). To our amazement, they were never claimed. Hard to believe someone left such awesome dogs behind. MPR was so impressed with their great disposition and loving personality that we chose them for our program.
Foster Situation: Sara is currently living with My boyfriend and I in the country. We also have a roommate and a male pit bull, who is about a year in a half. Sara loves everyone she meets. We didn't introduce Sara to our dog at first. We waited for Sara to get to know us and to feel comfortable here, which was about 2 weeks. They get along really good now. I think she will do good with a male if she is properly introduce but she would also enjoy being the only dog so she can soak up all the attention.
I go to my parents house almost every weekend. They live about 20 min away from our house. The dogs usually come. Sara does really good in the car. She just sits and stares out the window or she will find a comfy spot and lay down. I go on walks almost everyday. I always bring my dogs. Sara is awesome on a leash. She doesn't pull at all! Sara sleeps in her crate at night and when we are gone. She does very well in it. I just say "Sara lets go to your room" and she goes directly to it.
In Her Foster Home
Sara Lee is short and stocky, big boned girl and has a huge head. She's very much a "Bulldog" type of Pit Bull, rather than a "Terrier" type.
Training: Crate trained and house-broken. Responsive and very easy to handle.
I have taken classes in the past with my dog. So im working on a few things with her. She does know how to sit and stay. Sara is very responsive if you just keep on her and a treat never hurts.
Personality: Sara Lee is a volunteer's favorite. She is so easy to handle, super loving and very very sweet. Though she is quite strong, she is responsive and very well behaved.
Sara is such an awesome dog. I can't say enough good things about her. She is a dog that will change everyone's minds about pits. She is so loving and affectionate. She is a huge cuddle bug too. She is almost too easy, Lol.
She is so easy going. Sara does really good with whoever comes over. She is around all my nieces and nephews that range from 1-6. She is really good with all of them. Everyone who sees her compliments how calm and loving she is.
Best Attribute: This girl just oozes with sweetness. She is very laid back and no trouble at all. She would make a great companion for someone looking for a low-energy, easy and very affectionate pit bull.
Her best trait is her ability to melt your heart with just one look. You can't help but look at Sara and just want to love her. The way Sara looks just adds to it. She is short and stocky with that big ole head. I promise you if you meet her it will only take one second and you will have to bring her home with you. You couldn't ask for a better dog.
