How could we ever leave them out in the streets? With no room in foster care, MPR braced itself and secured 2 kennels in a local boarding facility.
With some time to recuperate, good medical attention and loving care, Sir has blossomed into a wonderful and loving boy. Although we don't really know where Sir has been and what he's had to live with, it is evident that he has seen some very hard times. Please don't let that stop you from looking past his scars and deeper into his loving soul.

Training: Now that Sir is feeling better, he is becoming very responsive to his training and is making improvements every day. He is acing the "Gentle Leader" trainingand is becoming a charm to take on walks.
A few dog dog trainers recently offered to spend time with our dogs in boarding and here is a brief report of their experience with Sir, as related by one of our volunteers: "I met with 2 more trainers on Tuesday, Sir did WONDERFUL!! He sat on command every time, was patient, took treats nicely and everything. We then decided to see how he would react in the kennels on a leash. We had him in front of other dogs in runs and even though some of them were acting out, Sir remained very well behaved. Every time we asked for his attention he looked right up at the both of us.
We took him out in the back yard and had him with the trainer on a leash. I went and got another dog and walked him over to the run. Sir did great with that as well. He did not pull on the
leash or act in any way inappropriate. He walked up to the fence and smelled the other dog and anytime the trainer asked for his attention he looked right at her. He was very relaxed and much more interesting in people than he was other dogs. Even when an other dog started perking his ears up and barking, Sir just sat there. I was very impressed with him! What a great dog!"

Personality: "People-dog by excellence". How amazing that a dog who had such a hard life, still loves people with so much heart. Sir lights up when he has visitors at the kennel. Despite the scars, the rough-edge and all the baggage, Sir wins everyone's heart in just a few seconds. He looks like a tough boy, but he is a big bundle of friendliness. Not much of a guard dog, but we bet he will be the most loyal and faithful companion anyone could ever dream of...
That said, Sir's enthusiasm for life can be a little overwhelming for someone not used to such passion and drive. Sir needs a home with someone who will establish positive leadership and provide him with structure. He would do wonderful in a home with a privacy fence. Sir is good with kids but he loooves to play and sometimes roughhousing gets the best out of him. Again structure and leadership is all he needs to stay under control. This dog has a huge heart. He just needs to find someone who has as much heart as he does and will be a wonderful companion. Soaking up some sunshine ...
Best Attribute: Sir is one of the friendless dog in the program right now. He is also one of the happiest and you can tell by looking into his eyes how grateful he is for all the good care he is getting. This dog is so expressive and easy to read. He's the best pal everyone hopes to have in their life one day.... APPLY NOW!
