How could we ever leave them out in the streets? With no room in foster care, MPR braced itself and secured 2 kennels in a local boarding facility.
With some time to recuperate, good medical attention and plenty of loving care, Sir has blossomed into a wonderful and loving boy. His companion, Justice, has been adopted. Now Sir can only dream that his turn will soon come too.
Although we don't really know where Sir has been and what he's had to endure in his life, it is evident that he has seen some very hard times. Please don't let his sad story stop you from looking past his scars and deeper into his loving soul.

Foster Situation: FOSTER HOME NEEDED. Sir has been living at the boarding facility since october 2007. Because he had such a difficult life before, boarding has been a step up for him and doesn't break his spirit. However, enough is enough! Sir cant spend the rest of his life in a cage.... he deserves better than that. We are terribly sadden that people looking to adopt a dog are overlooking this sweet dog. He might never win a beauty contest, we can guaranty that Sir would ace any "love" contest out there. So what he's not Brad Pitt.... His heart is more beautiful than many...
Training: Sir has become very responsive to his training and is making improvements every day. He does great with a "Gentle Leader" or a Weiss Walky (walking leash) and loves to go on walks. He has become a charm to take on walks. Update: 1/21/2009 - Sir is so responsive and eager to please he learned how to shake paws yesterday ... it only took about 5 minutes of working with him until he got it!!!! His trainer was so proud of him as we all are at MPR!

Personality: How amazing that a dog who had such a hard life, loves people with so much heart. Sir lights up when he has visitors at the kennel. Despite the scars, the rough-edge and all the baggage, Sir wins everyone's heart in just a few seconds. He looks like a tough boy, but he is a big bundle of friendliness. Not much of a guard dog, he loves people way too much for that, but we bet he will be the most loyal and faithful companion anyone could ever dream of...
Sir's enthusiasm for life can be a little overwhelming for someone not used to such passion and drive. Sir needs a home with someone who will establish positive leadership and provide him with structure. He would do wonderful in a home with a privacy fence. This dog has a huge heart. He just needs to find someone who has as much heart as he does and he will be the best companion.

Best Attribute: Sir is one of the most loving dog in the program right now. He is also one of the happiest and you can tell by looking into his eyes how grateful he is for all the good care he is getting. This dog is so expressive and easy to read. He's the best pal everyone hopes to have in their life one day....

What's going on? We are so deeply saddened that Sir Lov-A-Lot has been waiting ONE LONG YEAR... being boarded … in a cage.... waiting for his forever home.... He is confused as to why other dogs have gotten adopted and he hasn't. Frankly, we are confused too! We just don't understand… He's simply the sweetest dog in our program! We have to wonder … Is he being overlooked because of the scars? And if so, why would that matter so much? He’s not an ugly monster. Sir is a victim of human cruelty through no fault of his own. Everyone who meets him is amazed that a dog, who has obviously suffered a great deal at the hands of humans, can be so forgiving and so loving... How ironic that nobody will now welcome him home...
Oh, MPR volunteers have fallen in love with this sweetheart, he's so easy to love, but we all have too many dogs to bring another one home. This breaks our heart... Poor Sir has become very attached to some of us who visit him on a regular basis at the boarding facility and literally craves to become someone’s cherished companion.
Sir is a goofy ham and has a wonderful, sunny disposition with people… He absolutely adores human company, no doubt about it! Finding the right situation for him has been a greater challenge that we ever thought possible. What can we do to convince a loving family to open their heart to this incredibly sweet, so resilient, loving and amazingly forgiving dog? Sir can’t wait to find his own person to love and worship.
While Sir soaks up human love by the buckets, we feel the best situation for him would be as the only pet in the household so he can have all your love and attention. If you can provide this for him, it’s no secret that he’ll pay you back a thousand fold! Just imagine coming home from a hard day at work and being greeted with so much love! Please give Sir Love-A-Lot the chance to win your heart! This dog has so much heart and he's looking for someone who has as much heart as he does.
