Sterling was rescued from deathrow on her last day and brought into MPR's program to be given a chance to find a loving family of her own.

Precious Girl

Sterling has a sad story but despite her heartbreak, she has never lost her smile... Or maybe just for a few days, when she was kept at the shelter, not knowing if her puppies had survived.

What a beauty! | Big smile | Silly girl | Goofy girl

You see, Sterling had been spotted roaming the streets in a neighborhood for about a week before someone called animal control. The officer who went on the call had no problem catching Sterling. She willingly followed him in the truck as if he was a long lost friend. If was obvious that Sterling was nursing puppies as she was full of milk, but despite the agent's efforts, the puppies were never found. Other volunteers went to the location where Sterling had been picked up to try to find the pups but to no avail. Hopefully the puppies were weaned and had been taken by citizens in the area. We will never know.

What we do know, is that Sterling has gotten over her sadness and put her ordeal behind her. She is full of love for life and always in a good mood. Very happy girl!!

Too cute | Sweet Face | Sitting Pretty | Those eyes

Sterling has been transferred to a foster home with several other dogs and she does well with all of them with proper supervision. She is playful and likes to befriend dogs but she wont back down from a challenge. She is a little intense and requires good supervision.

She is a young dog, playful and energetic but she crates very well and is well behaved in the house.

Sterling is housebroken and crate trained - She uses the dog-door when she needs to go outside. She sleeps in the crate at night and is quiet and patient.

Sterling's foster family takes her on the pontoon boat. She loves it!

Sterling says "I'm on a boat!"

What's Up? | Happy Sterling

Sterling's blue coat looks gorgeous and the skin under her belly has tighten up. This blue princess has blossomed into a real beauty.

Sterling loves people and treats everyone like her very best friend. She is particularly fond of men. She loves to play with both people and dogs. She does a silly butt-run when she gets out of her crate but settles down nicely when she cant find anyone to play with her.

Sterling is very smart and responsive. She does great with kids and loves to be the life of the party.

What Sterling thinks about pet overpopulation

Sterling is an all around great little dog, easy-going, very fun-loving, affectionate, cuddly, playful, well behaved and full of charm! She will need a home that can provide her with exercise and leadership. She rides great in the car (or on the boat) and definitely loves being in the middle of the action with everyone!
