Sweetheart | Pleading Eyes | Good Sit

Here is our brave mama dog who courageously delivered 12 puppies while being held on "deathrow" in a shelter that has a non-adoption policy on Pit Bulls. Sugar Pie gave birth the day before she was scheduled to be euthanized. Our group was devastated to hear about this terrible situation so we decided to bite the bullet and rescue the whole little gang.

She has been so grateful and hasn't missed an occasion to show how much she appreciates that precious chance to live and to see her puppies find loving homes. She's a good girl with a fun-loving and outgoing personality.

"Is there a place for me in YOUR home?"

While she is now safe in our care, she must face that her chance to find a home when there are so many Pit Bulls in need are very slim. In fact, she was no match for her own puppies. They all found homes within a few weeks but nobody ever noticed the brave mama.... The pups will all look like her one day so why won't anyone give her a chance too? After all, she did all the hard work...

Striking | Golden Eyes | Beautiful Girl

Sugar Pie has been introduced to a young and friendly male and did very well. She loves to play and run around and the exercise is helping her loose the extra weight she gained after her pregnancy.

Sweet eyes | Good Sit | Too cute

Please give this mama dog a chance to win your heart. She deserves a home and family of her own. Will you be there for her?

A Note from her foster mom:

Sugar Pie is doing awesome! I am so blessed to end up with these well behaved, happy foster pitties. The first day I brought her home I was not too excited at the prospect of having to potty train another dog. Lucky for me she already had the whole concept of "go potty outside" down pat. She has never had one accident in the house and I have had her almost five months. She is also incredibly good about going in her kennel when asked. I don't make her stay in there too much nowadays since she has free reign of the house when I'm gone, but I'll catch her in there napping at her own discretion. She loves her kennel.:) Sugar Pie is also very good on a leash and doesn't require the use of a gentle leader or a harness. She has little to no prey drive towards cats, squirrels ect. and she also doesn't lunge towards other dogs we pass on the street. She is honestly one of the best dogs I've ever had the joy of walking with.

As far as dog aggression goes I would rate Sugar Pie somewhere between a 5 and a 6 on a scale of 10. She gets along very well with Mr. Goodbar and my brother's dog Zeak who are both bully breeds. When I tried to introduce her to a female pit she was not outwardly aggressive but it was obvious she wasn't happy about the situation. So as is the story with most pitties I think she would do best in a home with a friendly male or as an only pet. Introducing her to ANY dog whatsoever will have to be a slow process regardless if the dog is male or not.

All in all Sugar Pie is definitely a sweet, happy, energetic baby with lots of love to give. She is incredibly affectionate and follows me just about everywhere. She loves to go on car rides and for walks as I mentioned earlier. She is very low maintenance and wants nothing more than to lavish you with kisses. Sugar Pie is one of the sweetest dogs I have met thus far and will make a great addition to her forever family.
