It is pretty obvious that Velocity was previously owned as she is house trained, was already spayed, and was in good health condition. After a few weeks of looking for an owner we went ahead and decided to pull her into our program. She has more toned muscles packed into that body then you can imagine. She likes to play fetch and would love someone who would give her the exercise she needs. The good news is that although she is an active girl, she is not obnoxious. She loves going on walks!

Training: Our volunteers are working with Velo to teach her hand signals. Velocity hasn't had one accident in her kennel. Velocity is a very smart little girl, she has learned sit by hand signals and knows "no" in sign language. She is learning a mix of hand signals and signs, and she is picking them up quickly. She is not food motivated but would rather you reward her with a pat on the head.

Personality: Velocity is a silly girl, she has been able to make me laugh no matter how bad of a day I am having. She has started this new thing with me while she is at the kennels. She will carry on with this off sounding noise until I get to her run to let her out. Once I get to her run she sits patiently for me to open the door and every time, without fail, she will look up at me, wink, then walk out of her run. She is really growing on me! Velocity has not yet had the opportunity to be around children but she did tell me she would like to have human siblings as long as they know to not surprise her if she is sleeping or has her back turned. We feel bad for her when she wakes up startled because she couldn't hear anyone approaching her. She is never grumpy about it though, and is a real good sport about her disability.

With other dogs: Velo has a new best friend. She was introduced to Champ and the two of them have a great time together. Velo could live with a happy-go-lucky and friendly male.

Velo is outgoing, fun-loving and friendly. She is very athletic and would do well in a home with a large fenced yard or with someone who likes to take long walks.
