This adorable boy was rescued by the gang at SNKC. They contacted us and we took him into the program as soon as a foster home was secured for him.

Yoda is now fostered in a home with 2 other dogs, one cat and young children. He does wonderful with all of them. Yoda also appears to be crate trained and house broken.

Foster Situation:  Yoda is fostered is in a home with children, cats and other big and small dogs, both male and female. I have 2 roommates (my sister Danielle (female) 26 and a friend Jesse (male) 25), my daughter Jessica 8. Yoda does well with everyone! He is very fond of men but does great with women too! He is in need of some leash training - We live in town and Yoda has access to a fenced yard..

So far Yoda has accompanied us to my moms house where he met two other dogs and a baby (my nephew - one year old). He did amazing with all of them.

He is a little reluctant about getting into his kennel and into the car, but once he is in he does great. At night he sleeps in his kennel in my bedroom. He is very quiet and never barks.

Yoda is very content and calm, though he loves to play. He seems happy just to have people around. He loves playing with other dogs but doesn't really know how to. He is a bit mouthy but we are working on it and he is doing great! We found out that Yoda likes shoes, so we have been keeping those off the floor :) My flip flops will surely be missed. Yoda will probably do good in any home as he is very adaptable and easy to please. If possible a male owner would do good but is not necessary.

Training: We have been working on Sit, Shake and Lay-down and so far so good. Yoda did not seem to know any commands when we got him but he learned sit on the first day (a must in my house as you must work for everything!). Yoda marked a few places in the house the first day but has not had a real accident in the house. The marking ended the next day. We believe it was due to him being just neutered.

As explained above, Yoda needs encouraging to get in his kennel but once he is in he does great and is quiet. Yoda loves attention and will try to chew on your feet if you don't pay attention to him. He is responsive though and very eager to please.

Personality: Yoda is a little reserved at first but very easy going. It doesn't take him long to warm up. He is silly and funny when he plays because he's not sure of what to do. He loves cuddling on the bed and sofa. He gets super happy when my daughter comes home and always wants her to play with him, but he is not overpowering. He is not bothered by people stopping by and he usually doesn't even notice if someone new is there. Yoda is not dominant but not overly submissive either. Yoda is mostly calm and kinda lazy. He loves cuddling and playing with the kitten, so not much prey drive at this point . We believe Yoda was mistreated before - he does not like it when people raise their voice. He doesn't hold a grudge toward humans though and is very friendly. In all, Yoda is very well rounded and so far has passed with flying colors every situation he has been put through.

Best Attribute: Perfect amount of playfulness and cuddle bug! Yoda is super sweet and easy going and is very content just laying around, yet loves to play outside and run around with the other dogs. So far he is, dare I say 'Perfect'. (for instance right now he is laying on the floor right next to a open bag of trash and is not even phased!). Couldn't ask for a better one!

YODA NEEDS HEARTWORM TREATMENT

Our Fun-Loving little guy with the big ears tested positive to Heartworm disease. HW Treatment is about $200.00 for a dog his size (with rescue discount). Please help us save Yoda's life.

Coming soon
coming soon Once treated, Yoda will be able to resume a normal life and never worry about those nasty creatures crawling in his heart. Without treatment, Yoda will die.... We have encountered more than our share of sick dogs the last few weeks but we don't want to give up on them. We can only do it if we have help from other people who care about those dogs as much as we do... Please help us help Yoda....
