Zeus is a riot! Hard to believe that this poor boy lived all alone in the back of a vacant house for a few months. He is sooooo sociable! He thinks everyone is a long lost friends.
Zeus is fostered in a home with several other dogs. He has become best buddy with Carissa and the two of them spend a lot of them playing and goofing around. Zeus would do well in a home with another playful female.

Catahoula Bulldog: We believe Zeus is a Catahoula Bulldog. The Catahoula Bulldog is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog and the American Bulldog or American Pit Bull. The Catahoula Bulldog hybrid has been around for over 100 years. It is a very old American dog used in the south. There has not been any real good records kept on them. The name Catahoula comes from an Indian word meaning "clear water".
The Catahoula Bulldog has tight skin and a very short smooth coat. Eye color can come in brown, ice blue, gold, emerald green or a combination of all of these. Coats come in a wide variety of colors from merle to pure white.
Though utilized as a hunting, working, and guard dog, the Catahoula Bulldog makes an excellent companion. They are loyal and devoted to their people and are very intelligent. Catahoula Bulldogs do better with an owner who can provide positive leadership and a structured environment. Though sweet and loving to its family, it is a powerful breed, athletic, tenacious and resourceful.
Be aware that because they resemble Pit Bull dogs, unpapered Catahoula Bulldogs may be targeted by breed specific restrictions. If you live in an area with BSL, MPR will need to get Zeus approved by animal control before adopting him out. |
