Contact MPR Group

MPR receives countless e-mail a day, most from shelters, rescuers, and individuals requesting help for needy Pit Bulls in MO, KS and surrounding states. Our volunteers try their best to keep up with the overwhelming amount of e-mail we receive on a daily basis but we are swamped and can barely keep our head above water.

We encourage anyone looking to re-home Pit Bulls to first visit www.pbrc.net - Listing a homeless Pit Bulls on PBRC is free and easy.

Very rarely can MPR take a dog that someone contacts us about

There are just too many out there, and we have a very limited amount of space. PBRC is a "Pet Finder" like service created specifically for Pit Bull dogs, dedicated to assist caretakers and to provide essential information to anyone needing help with a Pit Bull. PBRC is often the dogs best chance to find a good home.

MPR is NOT a dog shelter. We have very limited funds and space available to board dogs and only a few active foster homes. Most of our resources are tapped out with sick/abused Pit Bulls coming into our program. Unfortunately, unless dog breeding is regulated and we are able to put an end to the unscrupulous practice of "backyard breeding", we will never be able to help all the homeless Pit Bulls in the region.

MPR doesn't know any "legitimate" all-breed rescue or no-kill shelters in the Midwest that can accept a Pit Bull at any time either. The truth of the matter is that Pit Bulls are very difficult to rescue and place. There are many things to consider when placing a Pit Bull and we realize that often times shelters and groups do not have the resources for these intensive placements. Pit Bull rescue is better handled by specialized groups which are few and far between.

Please remember that we are an all volunteer group, with full time jobs and families. It helps us tremendously when people visiting our site do a little research before writing us to make sure the answer to their question is not already on-line. In most cases, our volunteers will send you one of the links below when you contact us.

LOOKING FOR ASSISTANCE WITH A PIT BULL IN NEED: WE ARE FULL. If you are contacting MPR because you have found or know about a Pit Bull in need of rescuing, please go to PBRC. Unfortunately, you are experiencing an all too common situation for many homeless Pit Bulls. MPR is a foster home network with limited space and funding. PBRC is a resource created specifically for people who are trying to find a home for a Pit Bull dog.
