You never know what beauty you can find at the shelter. Neptune and his twin brother "Poseidon" were confiscated from an abandoned house. They were on their last day at the shelter when the animal control officer who found them asked me to take a look. I was quite amazed to see such beautiful dogs on deathrow. They look like they came straight from a show line.

They both show some signs of abuse, but are being strong. Their ears were still raw and bloodied from a recent home crop when we bailed them out. Luckily they turned out even. Neptune ears are a little longer and straight than his brother. The difference is subtle and unless you take a good look, the dogs are very hard to differentiate.

Neptune is slightly bigger and a little more serious than his brother. He seemed to have been a little more affected by his difficult past, but is coming around very well.

The shelter days are over...

He is very friendly and loving and also great with kids. He may be a little more needy and prefers being petted than play at this point. This may change when he realizes that life will never be hard again.

Update: Neptune IS very playful.

Now, that's a Pittie smile!

Neptune has an impressive look, but he is a friendly and loving dog. He loves to lay his head on your lap and soak up every bit of love he can get. Cuddling Neptune.

Neptune is a little more easy going than his brother when they play together, but we still think he should be placed as an only pet. Maybe he could do well with a friendly female, but he should always be supervised.

With his gorgeous blue/liver velvety coat and his beautiful golden/green eyes, Neptune will turn heads everywhere he goes. He will need some training so he can have good manners in public and be a good ambassador for the breed. He will definitely make his new owner(s) very proud.

Update: Neptune is taking a basic obedience class at PETCO and is doing good.

Those pictures don't capture his striking beauty.
