Paw
was rescued by a woman in St. Louis after she noticed him
starving to death and nobody taking care of him. Paw's condition
was critical and his chances for survival very low. A long
period of starvation had severely damaged his digestive system
making him unable to keep any food down. Desperate to help
this poor soul, but at the end of her rope financially, Paw's
rescuer contacted me for help. I in turn asked PBRC fund to
help pay for Paw's medical bills. He was admitted to "Noah's
Ark Animal Hospital" in Columbia, Missouri, on November 15th.
He should have weighed around 60 lbs, but was only 27 lbs.

Paw was put on life support right away and had exploratory surgery,
as well as extensive treatment and medication. The veterinarians
did all they could to save him, but despite their efforts, Paw
passed away after two weeks in intensive care.
Paw never had a chance to find a good home, but he found something
just as precious. He found friends... Probably for the first
time in his life, this brave little dog was surrounded by people
who deeply cared for him. Maybe he held on to life just long
enough to know how it feels to be loved...
PBRC and MPR rescue are thanking Drs. Terry Chapman and Greg
Chapman for their unrelenting help and dedication. They tried
so hard to save Paw, whos bill had reached over $1200.00 when
he passed away. PBRC paid half of it and the veterinarians generously
absorbed the rest in a gesture of support for this sweet boy.
Paw was buried in the veterinarians' yard. He will be remembered.
