Despite strongly hoping to keep him the good samaritan's landlord was unwilling to budge and said no! After what that boy went through we just couldn't say no so we brought him into the program.
Note that some of those pictures were taken while Phoenix had stitches and some just a few days after his stitches were removed. The vet did a great job and Phoenix has pretty much no scar left from his ordeal. We will try to send new pictures ASAP.

Foster Situation: Phoenix is fostered in a home with a young couple and a female Pit Bull. He is apparently doing awesome. Loves to play as much as he loves to cuddle. We will update his bio with more news on how he's doing ASAP.

Training: We know that Phoenix is fully housebroken and has great house manners. He also does well in a create. He is totally ready to go in home and give his heart to a new family.

Personality: Phoenix, as you can imagine, was afraid of men when we first got him. Especially men that carried a blunt object in their hands. We have been working on desensitization and Phoenix now realizes that not all people are monsters. In fat, he now things that us human are pretty nice and fun to be around to. He is thriving in our care and turning into the good little dog he was born to be.
Indeed, Phoenix is a very fun-loving little guy who loves to play and have a good time. You can tell that he is very relieved to be able to live life with a smile again. No more abuse, no more fear... Only a ton of love and fun. He is soaking up all the attention and loves to roll on his back for belly rubs.
Phoenix's thoughts on animal cruelty
Best Attribute: His ability to forgive and move on. Phoenix is not letting his terrible experience keep him from enjoying life. He is an inspiration for all of us.
