"Hi. I just wanted to let you know that Rio is doing great!! She has fit right into our home. She still gets very excited when someone is at the door, but only because she wants to kiss them.

She no longer sleeps in her kennel, she sleeps on her bed next to ours (she wouldn't have it any other way). Her and Spencer get along very well, they play rough but not aggressive, all the while wagging their tails. We noticed she had a small lipoma like growth on her back leg and the vet seemed to think it was no big deal, we are watching it.

She weighed 63.5 lbs. She loves to run outback and get muddy, so she gets lots of baths. We have gone on several walks with her and Spencer and I think she really enjoys them. I will send you pictures in the next couple of days.

Thanks for such a wonderful addition to our family!!"

January 5, 2008 UPDATE - Hi. Just an update for you. Shayne and I got Rio from you 3 yrs ago. I just wanted to let you know how she is doing and send you pictures. She was and is such a great addition to our family. She is still pretty hyper, but the sweetest little girl. She loves people!!!! She still sleeps with our 10 yr old, and has since the day we got her. She loves Spencer (mutts-n-stuff 2004). They are totally different, I think she has enough energy for the both of them. She is always ready to go. She loves walks.

Enjoy the pictures and have a Happy New Year.

Beautiful Rio

This beauty obviously didn't have a very good life before her rescue. She had a big chain mark around the neck, was dirty, underweight, and just generally out of shape when we first saw her at the shelter. Yet, there was something totally irresistible about the way she looked at us and we decided to transform this Cinderella into a real little princess.

Rio has been with us a few weeks now, and the difference is amazing. She's a doll! She already looks much better than expected in such short time and proved to have an adorable personality as well.

Sweet girl | Adorable Rio | Little Princess

We called her Rio because her patches look like a mask as if she was ready to go on a masquerade. She's a very fun-loving gal too and loves to have a good time.

Rio still needs to learn how to be a family companion but she is making great progress. Her biggest problem is how desperately she craves loves. We are working on her intense desire to be loved right now and we think she will soon realize that she will never lack attention and affection again. That said, Rio will never be an independent dog and will probably always remain a little needy. She would do great with someone who wont mind a persistent little cuddler.

Rio Stands | Pretty Girl | Beautiful eyes

Rio tested positive for Heartworms and was treated a few weeks ago. It was a low positive and the treatment was a success. She is ready to go in a new home now and give her healthy little heart to someone.

Sweetheart | Cute Rio | Rio Sits

Rio gets along great with other dogs. It seems like this little princess could share her kingdom with a charming 4 legged prince if the owners are Pit Bull savvy.

"Please love me..."

Rio is currently kept at the boarding facility and is doing quite well. This is probably much better than what she had before so she is pretty easy to please. All she wants is love, love, and lots of love. She would greatly benefit from obedience training and should be a responsive and eager to please student. Please open your heart to Rio and welcome her in your home. She's waited all her life for someone to love....
