What a survivor! Sly was found covered with sever bite wounds and seriously injured in the parking lot of a restaurant. Ironically, loosing a nasty dog fight is probably what saved his life...! He was most likely dumped and left to die, but luckily he was rescued in time. He received medical care, and was finally given the chance to find a very loving home. What a change for this brave little boy who obviously had it pretty hard before.

"Hi Veronique, just wanted to let you know that Sly is doing great. He got his stitches out today and his toe seems to be a little better, but I can tell it still bothers him. He is taking amoxicilin for it and I hope that clears the infection up. Poor baby hates having drops put in his ears. I try to explain to him that it will make him feel better, but I don't think he understands. Ha Ha.

Also, I have not seen one bit of aggression from him. We took him to Petsmart with us and he did great around other dogs and even when the other male dogs that are bigger than him are near the fence, he just wags his tail. I am just so pleased with his personality. Well I don't want to keep you to long, I just wanted to update you on the situation." Melissa

Sly received several stitches and other medical care to repair his injuries. His stomach had been ripped open, his left leg pretty damaged, and his ear badly torned. He still looks a little rough but is healing very nicely and seems to already have put his sad adventure behind him. He may keep a few scars, but it doesn't take away his charm and beauty. He is drop dead gorgeous, and what a great personality!

The shelter employees were so impressed with him that they asked MPR to give him a chance.

Sly was then transported to his new home where he will now live a happy life with Melissa, Bryan and new sister Sophie who has her own happy story. She was adopted through PBRC last winter after she survived parvo.
