SNKC CAN HELP!

Not Enough GOOD Homes For Pit Bulls
Considering the current situation, MPR does NOT support show breeding, backyard breeding, "game breeding", or ANY form of Pit Bull breeding. Pit Bulls are overflowing and being destroyed in area shelters - There is NO excuse to add more to an already over-saturated market.

Please help Nakoma... We promised her... |
|
One look into Nakoma's eyes and we knew we could not leave her at the animal Control facility to die. We knew also, that Nakoma would be a "hard-luck case and helping her back on her feet would most likely cost quite a bit of money.
Nakoma, which means "promise me" is Heartworm Positive, suffers from malnutrition and intestinal parasites and has sever wounds on her legs. She may not be out of the woods yet, but she is definitely out of hell.... We "promised" her she would always be loved for now on and are eager to transform this cinderella into a beautiful princess. MPR has encountered many medical cases lately and will need all assistance we can get to turn Nakoma's life around.. Nakoma has found a loving foster home to help her through her treatment and convalescence - All she needs now is a little financial hand. We estimate the total cost of her care to be about $500.00. Will you please look into her eyes and let them reach your heart...

Shop with MPR and help Dogs in need |

| Who else, for this months of bunnies, happy time and chocolate could be MPR's mascot than our little miss "Easter" herself, Funny Bunny! With her bunny tail, bunny ears and chocolate nose this cutie pie is just perfect!
Bunny doesn't understand why she has been waiting soooo long for a home of her own... Why?
We tell her it is because she is too good and too cute and her assets shy people away. What else could it be? Bunny is very well behaved, no trouble at all and just about as sweet as a dog can be.. and look at those ears, and that smile, and that face.... Really people, what are you waiting for? Bunny is waiting for you!

| FEATURED VOLUNTEER |
Nicole Philipps |

| This month, MPR wants to recognize the hard work and dedication of Nicole Philipps, a much appreciated member of our group. Nicole put up much efforts organizing the Homeshow 07 event in march and it was a GREAT success.
Nicole did an awesome job managing everything and the event couldn't have been any better. We had a lot of fun, the dogs had a lot of fun and MPR got one more occasion to help demystify misinformation about Pit Bulls.
Nicole even took time off work so she could attend the event everyday, from 10am till 9pm!!! ... Now, that's devotion!
Among all her involvement, Nicole, and her boyfriend Chris, are an active foster home for MPR and have rehabilitated, loved and placed many needy Pit Bulls since joining our group in 2006. We just don't know what we would do without them.
|
| Nicole, from MPR gang, a BIG BIIIIIG thank you. Girl, you rock!!!!! :-)) |
| NEW BEGININGS |
Meet our new adoptables April 2007 |
Our recent adoptions made room to save the life of new dogs. Visits to KCMO Animal Control facility are always very difficult. Dozens and dozens of Pit Bulls of all age, shape and color, sitting hopeless on deathrow, for having committed no other crime than being born the wrong breed in the wrong hands. We had room for one dog on our last trip but cam back with two....

Jersey Girl
We pulled Jersey Girl because she was too irresistible and too cute to die without a chance. We knew that a beautiful blue little girl like her would be able to find a good home relatively easy. For more info about Jersey, please visit her page.

Nakoma
When you do rescue you must be realistic and pull dogs that are highly "adoptable" so more can be saved. Sometimes however, our heart dictates our decisions instead of our head. It was the case with Nakoma.... How could we ever leave her behind at the shelter to die....

March was a good month for our dogs. One of our "old timers" (Buffalo had been with us for over a year) found a fantastic home with a new sister, huge yard, and a mom and dad that take him to work with them everyday. The long wait was worth it!!! Kenzie, Ayla and Kassie also found great homes this march. See 2007 Happy Endings here.
