SNKC CAN HELP!

Not Enough GOOD Homes For Pit Bulls
Considering the current situation, MPR does NOT support show breeding, backyard breeding, "game breeding", or ANY form of Pit Bull breeding. Pit Bulls are overflowing and being destroyed in area shelters - There is NO excuse to add more to an already over-saturated market.

| FOSTER HOMES NEEDED Dec 2007 |
Desperately needed.... |
| MPR has 4 dogs in boarding. Those are dogs that came into our program unexpectedly. Dogs we could not say no too and leave in the street to die a horrible death. |
Everyday we get pleas to help Pit Bulls in need and we must explain that we are too full. There are cases however, where this very real excuse just doesn't work. Below are dogs that were abandoned in the street, some with severe injuries, and MPR decided to step up despite our lack of availability in the program. The dogs are now in boarding for $280.00 a month EACH.
Do the math! Imagine the amount of Pit Bulls we would be able to help, get spayed and neutered, rehabilitate, etc, if we didn't have to spend so much money in boarding. Yet, how could we say no?
Our funds are running low and those dogs will have absolutely no where to go if we run out of money. |
|
| They might not be cute little puppies, but God only knows how much they deserve a chance nonetheless. Please open your heart to a Pit Bull need - Become a "Foster Parent"

12/27/ 2007 Midwest City, Oklahoma - City Plans To Seize Family's Dogs (Midwest City, OK) -
The Stuckey's have two bull terriers.
Katherine Bolles, city attorney
said the city will take the Stuckey's dogs if they're spotted in public but is not authorized to go into the couple's home or fenced back yard to seize them. Ideally, Bolles said she would like to see the couple give the dogs away to someone who lives outside the city limits.
"We will do everything in our power not to destroy the dogs ... they just can't be in Midwest City," she said.
Meanwhile, the Stuckeys have hired an Oklahoma City attorney, Scott Adams, who is seeking an injunction that would prohibit the city from seizing the animals and rule the city ordinance unconstitutional. To make your opinions about this story known, please contact the Midwest City Council through the contact information here. |

Beautiful Baraka |
 |
This beautifully soulful girl has been waiting since summer of 2006 for her forever home. This sweetheart came to us as an abused and extremely neglected mom that had been obviously overbred.
We named her Baraka, which means "essence of life"...This gal absolutely loves people with all her heart! For the first time in her life she is being loved, pampered and cherished. The only thing left to make it complete, is a family and home of her own.
For Christmas, Baraka says that she'd love a home with a family who will love, pamper and cherish her and will know how to appreciate a mellow couch potato like her. Won't you open your heart and make this precious girl's Christmas wish come true? |

Amy and her family have been fostering dogs for MPR since 2000.... 7 years of lifesaving dedication, love and commitment.
Amy first discovered MPR when she adopted Mickey (then known as Bengal) right before Christmas in 2000. A few months later she offered to open her home and heart to MPR dogs that needed a place to stay temporarily, sometimes as long as a year at the time. She has never stopped since!
Amy's family is currently fostering the charming Baraka (above). Thanks to their involvement, countless precious lives have been saved...
Amy has been such an asset to MPR and we are so very thankful to have her onboard. Thank you Amy!
