Specific Legislation (BSL)
Following is an excerpt
from an article
written by Rod Jones.
“The problem with Pit Bulls is
people. Be sure the legislation is not
against the dogs, and legislate against
the acts of violence which irresponsible
and abusive owners perpetrate on innocent
animals. Be sure the results of the
effort eliminates the problem without
unjustly targeting the animal, which
defers to the owner for guidance, and
by nature, can do no more. Legislation
is due, laws are in order, and the situation
is out of hand. Let’s be sure
of our focus. Laws are for humans, not
for animals who have no say about the
captive environment they must endure.”

“Pet”
Bull of the Month
Who’s ready
for some fun?? If you are looking
for an outgoing,
happy, and fun-loving dog, Tango is
your guy! This sweet boy is currently
in a foster home where he has learned
sit, stay, heel and down, although
he still needs some work on his leash.
He loves to play with his foster sister
and would do well with an active female
companion. Tango is always in a good
mood and is going to make some family
very lucky!
If
you are interested in Tango, please
visit www.mprgroup.net
to learn more about him and our other
available dogs for adoption, and fill
out an application.
If you adopt Tango,
it will open up his foster home to
help another needy pit bull, so you
will be saving TWO lives!

Going
Home
Kong
has waited for his forever home for nearly
a year, he came to us with broken teeth,
ringworm, IDB and battle-cropped ears.
This boy has been through hell, but finally
Kong has found his forever family!
There was one big problem though; the
family that loves Kong is in Colorado.
MPR has a policy of not placing dogs unless
we can visit the home, however the prospective
owners truly sounded perfect for Kong
and they drove from Colorado in April
to meet their boy and spend a weekend
with him. It was love at first sight and
they have officially adopted Kong. They
will not be ready to take Kong until they
move into their new house in July. They
are very eager to welcome their boy home,
and we are so happy to see this very special
dog find his forever family.
Lucky
Dog
We were lucky to receive some very generous
donations to help us take Kong to his
new home. We did not want to "ship
him" on an airplane. He has touched
our lives so dearly that we can't bare
the thought of letting him go home alone.
Kong's caretaker wants to share in this
new beginning with him and be able to
see where Kong will live. If ever there
was a Pit Bull that deserved his own "chauffeur"
to his new home . . . it is Kong. He is
more special to us than words could ever
say.
Sadly, Kong’s condition when we
rescued him is all too common, and frankly
not even close to the worst case scenarios
we have seen these dogs go through. There
are so many more pit bulls in need that
are desperate to find their forever homes.
We hope that Kong’s story has inspired
you to help us save more of these wonderful
and loving creatures. |
