Some wonderful pups went home in October!
MPR placed Butterfly,
Buster
Brown, and Kiara
this month. Loving Adonis
and beautiful Spirit
are still available, but have been transferred to MPR foster
homes and are thriving. Usually adoptions really slow down
in the winter, so please cross your fingers (and paws) that
some more MPR dogs go home before the Holidays!
Pit Bull Saves Poodle -Read
all about it!
One thing we are eager to share is Donor's
story. We found out about a male pit bull that had been
abandoned at a vet clinic/shelter after his owner refused
to claim him. While there, "Donor" doanted blood
for emergency tranfusions. Sadly, the shelter was full, so
even though Donor had been saving the lives of other dogs,
(the day before we met him he saved a poodle) he found his
own life on the line.
Thanks to some very generous folks (Sandra and FFF)
we were able to pay for boarding until a space opened up with
MPR! We took Donor into our program last week -and what a
delightful boy he is! For more information, check out his
page!
Unfortunately, there are still many more pits
that we are unable to fit into our program. To understand
a little of what these dogs face every day, check out the
"Pit
Bull Problem" if you are up for it... (Warning, images
in this video may be graphic)
As always, if you are interested in volunteering,
sponsoring and adoption event, or have any other suggestions,
feel free to send them our way. Just drop us a line at email@mprgroup.net

Rascal the Wigglebutt. . .
Rascal knows how to make you feel loved,
that's for sure. This guy has been waiting in a kennel for
TWO YEARS
yet it has not changed his fantastic, shining personality.
This is the kind of dog that can make even the worst day be
okay. One look into those soulful brown eyes and one glance
at the wiggly-est rear end on a pit that we have ever seen,
and your troubles will melt away.
Rascal is very friendly, comical, fun-loving, and athletic.
He's absolutly gorgeous, inside and out, and bears a striking
resemblance to Petey from the Little Racals. He'd love someone
to pal around with. In fact, he'd give anything to leave the
kennel and find a real home...
Rascal has been waiting, waiting, waiting... and we can't
understand why. Please, help this happy boy find a happy home.
If you are interested in adopting him,
go to his
page to fill out an application. He may even let you paint
a little circle around his eye in return for a loving home!

Sherri and her husband, Josh, started volunteering
with MPR in summer of 2004. They have been a wonderful addition
to the group, making their work a family affair.
Sherri and Josh have helped out at many MPR garage sales and
events, and they are an active puppy foster home, most recently
fostering sweet little Fiesta!
Thanks, guys, for your hard work and dedication!

Happy Ending |
Lola Before |
Poor Rain (Lola) was pulled from the shelter covered in fighting
wounds. This stunning girl had defnintely seen the worst life
could give, and was very ready to throw in the towel.
Lola was adopted to a woman who could not keep her, returned,
and then adopted by a MPR volunteer. After much love, food,
and comfort, Lola has blossomed into the stunning beauty we
knew she could be. She now knows her life is worth living
and is so grateful she pays all back with gentle kisses that
cross her path.
Lola is such a wonderful testament to the breed and what
these go through, yet how they can still remain so sweet and
loving despite their abuse. Dogs like Lola are why we do what
we do!
